Petaluma Valley Hospital Foundation proudly honors H. Loren Fong, M.D., FACEP, as the 2024 Philanthropy Physician Champion Award recipient. As the medical director of the emergency department at Petaluma Valley Hospital for nearly three decades, Dr. Fong has exemplified unparalleled dedication, leadership and compassion in advancing health care excellence.

Throughout his esteemed career, Dr. Fong has provided exceptional medical care and demonstrated an understanding of philanthropy’s pivotal role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality health care to the community. He has consistently championed initiatives to foster philanthropic support for the hospital, and has effectively engaged with community members, recognizing their potential to contribute meaningfully to our hospital’s mission.

Through his work, Dr. Fong continues to build connections between the community and the Foundation, facilitating introductions to the Foundation team and playing an instrumental role in securing vital funds for acquiring new equipment and implementing innovative programs.

Dr. Fong embodies the essence of a true physician champion: an active advocate for initiatives to improve patient care, a respected leader among his peers and a caregiver who brings clinical expertise and a deep understanding of patient needs to every interaction.

One of the best ever

More than 300 golfers enjoyed a day that included two 18-hole courses of golf and raised more than $405,000 in support of the St. Joseph Hospital’s Cardiovascular Program.

The best inspires confidence

When he needed a scan to check for cancer, Terrance was nervous to say the least. “The tech prepping me for my PET/CT scan told me that my diagnostic test would be done with the new equipment just received. He said that it was the 'best of the best' and made possible by generous donor support” said Terrance.
